A
Public
Building
For the last project, a public institution, I desired to use them to fill the two remaining boundingcorners of my self determined site. So as a result two different buildings were proposed: the management office for the power and waste facility opposite, and a new home for the reserve bank of Australia’s bullion deposits.

Starting with the management office for the power and waste facility; a brown tower, reminiscent of the old gas and fuel buildings on Flinders street, stands proud opposite chimneys of its subordinate entity.

Moving to the reserve bank’s bullion deposit building. Australia currently owns around eighty metric tons of gold, amounting to four square metres in area. However ninety-nine percent of this is
currently stored within the bank of England outside of our own federal jurisdiction. This project seeks to find a home for this gold within our own shores.
